Ask your grown up to print out the templates for Billy and Buddy. It might be easier to print onto thin card if you have any, it will make using the brads (fasteners) easier.
Then you can have fun colouring them in. You’ll need your grown up again now to help cut them out and safely make the holes for the paper fasteners using something pointy.
Gently push the fasteners through and open up the ‘butterfly’ on the other side. Now you have your own Billy and Buddy that you can change into any position you want. Why not paint your own pictures and put Billy and Buddy over the top, then you can make your own stories.
The paper fasteners, or mini brads, are widely available from art and craft shops, or you can buy them from Amazon or Ebay, see links below.
It’s best to use mini brads that are about 7mm or 8mm long (they’re very small and good for small fingers) and preferable the ones with rounded ends to the ‘butterflies’.
If you don’t want to use brads, you could just stick the figures together onto your painting.
Once you have finished your figures and your painting, why not email a photo through to us. We’ll put it on our instagram page for everyone to see.
